Self Priming Pump
The A series of centrifugal self priming pumps manufactured by Calpeda are a robust and reliable solution for numerous industrial and municipal applications such as sump emptying, drainage and irrigation or any application where a suction lift is required. The range comprises 10 sizes from 40mm up to 80mm covering flow rates from 3.6 m3/hr up to 66 m3/hr. Standard construction features a cast iron casing and impeller with an all bronze option available for handling more aggressive liquids such as sea water and mild chemicals.
The pump features a semi open impeller enabling the pump to handle solids up to 10mm in size for the A40 and A50 models and 15mm for the A65 and A80 models.
The casing is fitted with a flap valve on the inlet, preventing reverse siphoning backflow when the pump is not running. The pump casing design ensures water is retained within, assisting re-priming even with a partially filled casing and empty suction pipe.
